How do bFlash files work on a file portal?
bFlash reads come to your portal like any other file. How the file arrives, what your tuner does, and why a locked bFlash file is opened in your own tool.
In short
A bFlash read uploads on your portal and lands on one job in your queue. A locked bFlash file is not decrypted in the portal: it is kept as it came, and your tuner opens it in your own bFlash master tool.
What is bFlash?
bFlash is a programming tool sold in master and client versions, used to read and write ECUs on the bench and in boot mode, and through other methods depending on the unit and the licence. As with any tool built around a master, a client's files go to the master they are tied to.
How does a bFlash customer send a file?
Through the same order page as everyone else. They sign in, upload the read, pick the work and any extras, and see your price. The portal reads what it can from the file and asks for the rest. The job then sits in your queue, with Express and Urgent work on top.
- 1Express and Urgent firstJobs paid for speed sit at the top with their turnaround target.
- 2Find any jobBy number plate, job number, VIN, name or email; filtered by status, payment and priority.
- 3The car, the ECU and the workEvery row carries what the portal read from the file and what was ordered.
- 4Where every job standsPending, processing, waiting for payment, done: counted as they move.
A sample shop; your portal carries your name.
What happens with a locked bFlash file?
It stays locked. Decrypting inside the portal is for a master on Alientech or AutoTuner. A bFlash file is kept as it came, and your tuner opens it in your own bFlash master tool, tunes it, and uploads the result to the job. The customer downloads it from the portal when you deliver.
What does a portal add for a bFlash file service?
The parts around the file. Payment before work starts when you switch it on. One conversation on the job instead of a thread on WhatsApp. Corrections on the same job, so nothing gets lost. An invoice in your name for every job. And a library of what you have tuned, so the next car with the same software starts from your last work.
Questions
Is there a limit on which tools my customers use?

Which bFlash file types are accepted?
The bFlash container and the usual binary formats are accepted, along with the formats of the other common tools.
Can my tuner work from home on bFlash jobs?
Yes. The portal is on the web, so your tuner signs in from wherever your master tool is.
