How does WinOLS fit with a file portal?
WinOLS is where your tuner edits; the portal is where jobs, customers and money live. How the two sit side by side, and how to bring your WinOLS projects along.
In short
WinOLS stays where your tuner edits, and the portal holds everything around it: the customer, the order, the payment, the file and the delivery. You can bring your WinOLS projects into your library when you move.
What does each one do?
WinOLS, made by EVC, is an editor. Your tuner opens a file in it, finds the maps and changes them. It does not take an order, collect money, tell a customer the file is ready, or write an invoice.
A file portal does those things, and it does not replace your tuner's judgement. The usual working day is simple: a job arrives in the queue, your tuner downloads the file, works in WinOLS, and uploads the result to the same job.

- 2Find any jobBy number plate, job number, VIN, name or email; filtered by status, payment and priority.
- 3The car, the ECU and the workEvery row carries what the portal read from the file and what was ordered.

Can you see maps without opening WinOLS?
For a quick look, yes. Your tuners can open the maps of a file in the browser and see what changed against stock, and compare two files side by side, map by map. That is useful when you are checking a job from a phone or answering a customer who asks what was changed. It is a way to look at a file, and the editing stays in your editor.
How do you bring your WinOLS projects with you?
When you move to a portal you can bring your folders, batch uploads and WinOLS projects into your own library. Every file is then searchable by software, hardware and ECU, and it is offered back when the same car returns. The years of work you already have are what make the library useful on the first day.
Does the portal change how your tuner works?
Very little. Your tuner still works in the editor they know. What changes is everything around it: no asking who has paid, no searching a chat for the file, no typing an invoice. The job has it all on one screen.
