How does an AutoTuner file reach your tuner?
A portal for AutoTuner file services: customers upload a read, the ECU is read from the file, and a master decrypts locked files on their own account.
In short
Your customer uploads the AutoTuner read on your portal and it lands on a job in your queue. If you are an AutoTuner master, a locked file is decrypted on your own account and encrypted again for the customer's tool.
What is AutoTuner?
AutoTuner is a programming tool used to read and write engine control units over OBD, on the bench and in boot mode. It is sold in master and slave versions. A master can open and edit files itself, while a slave reads the car and sends the file to its master.
For a file service that means two kinds of customer. Some send a plain read that any tuner can open. Others have a slave tool tied to you, and what they read is locked until you open it.
What happens when a customer uploads the file?
The customer signs in to your portal, picks the car and the work, and uploads the read on one page. The portal looks inside the file for the ECU, the hardware and software numbers, and fills in what it finds. The job goes into your queue with Express and Urgent work on top, and you can ask for payment before a tuner opens it.

What do you need to decrypt locked AutoTuner files?
You need to be the master, with your own AutoTuner account. In your portal's settings you enter your device ID and API key, and from then on a locked file opens on the job when it arrives. The decrypting runs on your account, never on ours.
If you are not an AutoTuner master, the file is still accepted. It is kept as it came and handed to your tuner, who opens it in whichever tool can open it.
What goes back to the customer?
The tuner uploads the tuned file to the same job. For a file that came locked, a master's portal encrypts it again so it is ready for the customer's own tool. The customer is told it is ready, and downloads it with the certificate and dyno sheet you chose to give, in your brand.
Questions
Does the AutoTuner connection cost extra?
No. The connection comes with every plan. You use your own AutoTuner account, and the decrypting runs on it.
Can customers send files from other tools too?
Yes. A read from any tool comes to your portal. Only Alientech and AutoTuner files can be decrypted in the portal, and only for their master.
What if my customer's tool is a slave of another master?
That file can only be opened by its own master. The portal keeps it as it came, so the customer should send it to you only if you are that master.
